Soldered WS2812Grid MicroPython Library

There's no dedicated "WS2812 Grid" board - this is meant for a DIY/self-wired grid built from individual WS2812B pixels/strips (see Soldered-WS2812-MicroPython-Library (opens in a new tab) for the individual boards).

This library drives an 8x8 (or larger, in multiples of 8x8 panels) grid of WS2812B individually-addressable RGB LEDs wired in a serpentine layout (even rows left-to-right, odd rows right-to-left), exposing a simple (x, y) pixel-coordinate interface on top of MicroPython's built-in neopixel module. Connects via a single GPIO data pin - no I2C/Qwiic involved.

How to install

After installing the mpremote package (opens in a new tab), install the library on your board using the following command:

  mpremote mip install github:SolderedElectronics/Soldered-WS2812Grid-MicroPython-Library

Or, if you're running a Windows OS:

  python -m mpremote mip install github:SolderedElectronics/Soldered-WS2812Grid-MicroPython-Library
