This library drives both of Soldered's precision ADC breakouts, built around Texas Instruments' ADS1015 (12-bit) and ADS1115 (16-bit) chips: 4 single-ended (or 2 differential) channels at up to 860 samples per second, with a built-in programmable gain amplifier (PGA) for signal conditioning. Inputs accept up to 3.3V and the boards work from a 2V-5.5V supply over I2C, with a Qwiic connector for solder-free integration. Part of the Qwiic ecosystem (opens in a new tab).

How to install

After installing the mpremote package (opens in a new tab), install the library on your board using the following command:

  mpremote mip install github:SolderedElectronics/Soldered-ADS1X15-MicroPython-Library

Or, if you're running a Windows OS:

python -m mpremote mip install github:SolderedElectronics/Soldered-ADS1X15-MicroPython-Library

Repository Contents

  • ads1x15.py - MicroPython driver class (ADS1015 + ADS1115)
  • package.json - mip install manifest
  • /Examples - examples for using the library

Hardware design

You can find hardware design for these boards in the ADC 12-bit ADS1015 and ADC 16-bit ADS1115 hardware repositories.
